Pictures from magazines were how I got into art. At first I would keep more iconic subject matter, then things dissolved. Some pictures were of paintings, and cropped paintings made complicated images. But I had less reverence for anything beyond that. It was how color looked when it was printed…stained into a fragile leaflet…flat and indifferent.

Now anything printed is an artifact. Anything on a piece of paper is an artifact

Pictures are open, nothing else seems as spacious.
